    • Laitonism: The root word, Laiton, is french for brass. Laitonism is the religion of music. Laitonists live their lives with music always in their mind, forever in their soul. Laitonists believe that music is the answer to all of lifes problems. Laitonism features this set of important laws to live their lives by.
    • 1. Don't let others actions and words affect you negatively. If you let others affect you negatively, the song that is your life will become rough, harsh to hear.
    • 2. Treat others as you would want to be treated. You wouldn't want a clarinet player to blast a high pitched note in your ear, so don't do the same.
    • 3. Most importantly, live your life with excitement. No one wants to listen to a boring song, no one wants to live a boring life.
    • 4. Music is the universal language of mankind.
    • Laitonism doesn't feature specfic Gods.
    • Here are a few sayings that important to Laitonists
    • 1. "Without music, life would be a mistake."- Friedrich Willhelm Nietzsche
    • 2. "If a composer could say what he had to say in words, he wouldn't bother trying to say it in music."- Gustav Mahler
    • 3. "Were it not for music, we might in these days say the beautiful is dead."- Benjamin Disraeli
    • 4. "Music is what feelings sound like."
    • 5. "Music is the poetry of the air."- Richter
    • 6. "Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life."- Ludwig van Beethoven
    • 7. "Music is your experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn."- Charlie Parker
    • There are a few people who are important to Laitonism and Laitonists. These people are
    • 1. Gerard Arthur Way
    • 2. Ludwig van Beethoven
    • 3. Marshall Bruce Mathers III
    • 4. Chester Bennington
  • Language(s)

  • Traditional Clothing
    • Men: Since the weather in Janipur is rather mild, men usually just wear pants, shoes, and long or short sleeved shirts. In the summer, when temperatures rise, they resort to shorts, sandles, and short sleeved shirts. For formal events, men wear dress pants, dress shoes, button up shirts, and ties.
    • Women: The dress for women is similar to men. They can also wear dresses and skirts. Women resort to sundresses and skirts in the summer. For formal events, women wear elegant dresses and either high heels or flats.
  • Major National Holidays
    • The birthday of Gerard Arthur Way is celebrated on April 9th every year. On that day, all schools and businesses are closed for the day. Through out the day, songs written by the band, My Chemical Romance, are played in all the major cities. Citizens come out and dance and sing all day.
    • Ludwig van Beethoven Day is another holiday celebrated in Janipur. It is celebrated on December 17. During the day, symphonies written by Beethoven are played through out schools and businesses. In schools, students are taught about Beethoven, his life, and his music.
    • The birthday of Marshall Bruce Mathers III is celebrated on October 17. During the day, students are taught about Eminem and how his life helped him write his raps. They learn how feelings tie into raps. They get their own chance to write a rap and perform it at school.
    • The most important holiday of all is Le Jour de la Musique, which is french for The Day of Music. This holiday begins on May 6th and lasts for two days. On those two days, all businesses and schools are closed. For the entire two days, people come out to play instruments, sing, and party.
  • Cultural Norms, Customs, and Taboos
    • Handshakes are the most common form of greeting. Also, when approaching a stranger, it is perfectly normal to sing the first few lyrics of "Welcome to the Black Parade."
    • When giving people flowers for gifts, flowers should only be given in odd numbers, but not 13. 13 is considered very unlucky. Also, white flowers should never be given as gifts. They are only for formal events.
    • When giving people wine as a gift, make sure it is of the highest quality you can afford. Quality, not quanity.
    • When invited to a party or dinner, it is fine to be late. 30 minutes late for a party and 15 minutes late for a dinner.
    • Using someone's first name is reserved for family and close friends only.
    • Never, ever wrap a gift in purple gift wrapping. Purple symbolizes bad luck.
    • While it is not illegal, it is rather frowned upon to speak bad about music in public.
